The GBos Youth Intro to Cricket program is an engaging, inclusive and fun initiative designed for children aged 6-10 years. Open to both boys and girls, this softball program offers a perfect introduction to the exciting world of cricket!

  • Ideal First Experience: Great introduction to cricket basics
  • Duration: Eight 60-minute sessions over the summer
  • Parental Involvement: Parents are not required to participate but must stay on premises
  • Fundamental Movement Skills: Including batting, bowling, catching and throwing.
  • Equipment: Soft balls and plastic bats are used to ensure safety. We will provide everything they need to play.

 

 

Details

  • First session starts Sunday, June 16th!!
  • Every Sunday, 10am-11am
  • Summer program runs from June 16 - Aug 11
  • Eight sessions of cricket training (no class on July 7)
  • Each participant will receive a cricket bat, t-shirt and hat
  • Location: Crumb Field, Lexington, MA

 

Forms requiring more information (participant name, date of birth etc.) will be sent via email post-purchase.

 

What Will My Child Be Doing?

The GBos Youth Intro to Cricket program emphasizes fun while teaching children the fundamentals of cricket. Children will learn the following fundamental cricket skills:

  • Batting: Hitting a moving ball.
  • Bowling: Learning overarm bowling techniques.
  • Throwing: Mastering both underarm and overarm throws.
  • Catching: Practicing with small and large balls.
  • Running: Engaging in lots of movement to develop agility.
  • Teamwork: Playing fun games with friends to build teamwork.
  • Communication: Calling and signaling with teammates.
  • Spirit of Cricket: Learning to respect others and play fairly.

 

Who's teaching?

Our coaches have all played cricket at various levels, some even professionally, and we all have a keen grasp on the nuances and technicalities of the game. To learn more, check out the 'About Us' section.

 

This program is a fantastic way for children to stay active, make new friends, and develop their cricket skills in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment.
